All information on this website was found in Public Records and  is Public Accessible Information.

Below is an email that Investigator David Gletty has sent to his Network Media contacts: Media contacts on right side of page.

Thank you for the opportunity to be on your Media Outlet program recently as a former FBI Operative and Domestic Terrorism Expert. As you know I am a Private Investigator now and I believe you would be interested in the assignment I am working on currently.

A mother’s agony and search for answers over her son’s death at the hands of a hit and run driver that did not contact Police about the accident until more than a week after the accident. No arrest and no citations.
The Victim: Aaron Christopher Zacharias of Clermont FL. 26 years old. American born. Mother from India and father African American. Kept a Muslim appearance, but was a Christian.
The Hit and Run Driver: Mr. David Joseph Sheets. 9421 Meadow Crest Lane. Clermont FL 34711. White male about 50 years old. Former military and presently welder for family business.
Please see Media Story links on the left side of page and on the right side of page you will find Investigative Action Report, Media Contacted, Case Status and useful Internet Links .
The Order of Events and Facts:
1.       Aaron Zacharias roommate dropped him off at a convenient store in Clermont FL. 1 mile from his home at around 11:24 pm. 12/6/15. He was going to walk back home like usual after buying a hot fries and vitamin water.

2.       Aaron Zacharias crosses Lake Shore Drive on his walk back home and is struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Aaron dies at the scene.

3.       A passer by stopped at the scene most likely minutes later because he saw a light in the middle of the road, Aarons cell phone in flash light mode. Brandon Ford finds Aaron's body on the shoulder of the road. Brandon notices that Aaron is dead and notifies the authorities via 911.

4.       Vehicle that struck Aaron never returned to the scene.

5.       Aaron’s mother Neena was notified at around 5:30 am that her son was killed in a hit in run accident.

6.       A vigil was held for Aaron, local media outlets ran a story with the mother asking for help.

7.       After a week the driver of the vehicle that hit Aaron and left the scene contacted the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and told them that he may have been responsible. Mr. Sheets of Clermont Florida advised FHP that he was in that area on that night and hit what he thought was a non-human object. Mr. Sheets said it could have been a Deer, Bear or Trash can, but not human and that is why he did not stop.

8.       FHP believed Mr. Sheets story and did not ticket him or arrest him for Aarons death and leaving the scene.

9.       Aaron was put to rest with so many questions left about what happened.

10.   FHP wrote the accident report in a manner that states Aaron walked out in front of Mr. Sheets vehicle where there was no cross walk and violated Mr. Sheets right of way.

11.   Case is still considered "Open" per Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and currently there is no justice for the victim and no answers for a distraught mother.

12. To be fair to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) please read Investigator Gletty's report about the case and FHP Standard Operating Procedures involving a "Hit and Run" and how sometimes it takes months/years to make an arrest. Please see Case Actions link on right side of page.
